Stay in Your Lane

Recently I have been very unsure about God’s calling for my life. I know what He has called me to do, but sometimes it feels like He might have picked the wrong person for the job. I have been feeling like I am unqualified for the work that He has me doing.

There are so many other Christian bloggers out there with years of experience and huge followings. I haven’t been a “perfect Christian” and although nobody has, I second guess myself because I don’t see how I can help other people when I’m just now getting my relationship back on track with God….but that’s the answer isn’t it? It’s not about me at all. It’s not about me being a perfect Christian and putting myself on a pedestal for people to admire and try to copy. It’s about me testifying to the amazing grace of God and hoping that it reaches people and makes them want to experience it for themselves.

I titled this post “Get in Your Lane” because as I was second guessing myself, God told me that there was no reason for me to feel unqualified because he placed me in this lane. When you are in your God given place, there is always a space for you and you will always belong. There are a lot of Christian blogs out there already, but it’s not about who has already done it, it’s about who’s going to do it now.

Plus, what’s wrong with one more Christian blog? There might be somebody that I can reach that no one else could. Matthew 9:37-38 says, “Then He said to His disciples, ‘The harvest truly is plentiful, but the laborers are few. Therefore pray the Lord of harvest to send the laborers out into His harvest.” We need more kingdom people doing ministry, so at the end of the day, the more the merrier!

God also revealed to me that there is no competition when you are in the lane that has your name on it. Think about Coke and Pepsi, or Apple and Windows. They have both made lanes for themselves, and there are people who enjoy them. God has a lane specifically for you, so if you’re experiencing road blocks or detours it might be Him telling you that you are in the wrong lane.

My prayer for you today is that you understand that if God has called you to do something, he will give you all the tools you need to do it and He will put you in the right lane. I pray that you don’t risk not fulfilling your purpose because you’re afraid of a little competition, or thinking about who did it first. As always I want to thank God for using me as His messenger. If no one has told you recently, you are loved and you are worthy. You mean something to me and you mean something to God. He has a great plan for your life if you make the decision to follow Him. I hope that this post will resonate with you in your day to day life as you began to work on the things that are stopping you from living your best life.

Through Her He Speaks,

Ashtyn
