No More ThroughHerHeSpeaks?

It’s hump day!!!!!

Happy Wednesday guys. I pray that you’re having an amazing week! I honestly wasn’t planning on writing this post until like the summer time, but things change. Please forgive me if it’s all over the place. I’m honestly just getting all of my thoughts and feelings out. So here we go…

Goodbye to ThroughHerHeSpeaks?

Through Her He Speaks was created in October 2017 as a bible study and devotional blog. We’re almost five months in and I feel like I’ve lost my “why”. Recently I’ve felt like I’ve had no motivation and ultimately, no direction. I thought that maybe I had drifted away from God, but the more I read and studied the less desire I had to really post.

I realized that I had no desire to post because this blog has drifted away from its original purpose. It was created initially for me to write down things revealed to me after studying the bible. It was created for me to try to help others understand God’s Word and apply it to their lives.

Instead, it’s turned into a little bit of everything that I’ve taken away from other blogs that I thought were successful. I was so focused on getting a big following and seeing how many views I could get in a day. My goals changed from ministering to God’s people and touching someone’s life to Pinterest views and Facebook groups.

Now, I’m not saying any of that is bad, but it’s just not what I, or God, wanted this particular blog to be. I wanted this blog to be an open space, full of dialogue about God’s Word, and practical, real-life application. I want less focus on themes and plugins, and more focus on scripture and bible study.

So what does that mean for Through Her He Speaks?

Welllll, this blog isn’t going anywhere. This is my baby and I want to see it become all that God has intended for it to be. However, it can’t do that in its current state so it needs a face lift. Over the next month or so I will be removing some posts and only leaving those that accurately show the purpose of this blog. That will most likely be bible study posts, book reviews, and posts like Friends, How Many of Us Have Them? and 10 Statements that Affirm Who You Are & Whose You Are.

When I relaunch this blog, we will have a set schedule. On Sundays, I will send out an email with a devotional from whatever book I’m reading, and on Wed. & Fri. there will be a blog post. I will also be looking for contributors for this blog, so if you’re interested in that please let me know!

I will be finishing the study of Daniel in the bi-weekly newsletter, so make sure you’ve signed up to receive those emails if you haven’t yet! You can click here to sign up.

Is that all?

Um, no. I will soon have a second baby, a second home, a second blog. I created this second blog because I am passionate about young women living life on purpose. I am passionate about young women living a meaningful life and not just going through the motions. I am passionate about helping young women wake up everyday with a sense of purpose. I am passionate about young women living, and not simply existing. So I am creating a new platform where I can help women do just that.

On that blog, we will be addressing mental health, healthy habits, cultivating meaningful relationships and manifesting the life that we dream of. That is where posts like How to Declutter Your Life, Change Your Thinking & Change Your Life, the Surviving College series, etc. will be.

I am excited for this new journey and for the things that will come from it. Thank you to everyone who has stuck with me this far, and will continue to grow with me!

Don’t forget to sign up for the newsletter to receive updates and bible studies during this transition.

See ya on the flip side!

I understand wanting to do what God tells you to do as well as getting caught up in the numbers. It’s a delicate balance. Your blog is beautiful so I’m excited to see your next steps as you give it a facelift. When you are ready for a contributor, I pray I’m ready. God bless!

I really like the fact you want to stay on course and see this blog become all that God intends for it to be.. It is really refreshing when I stumble upon edifying contents… Also like the idea of your second blog.
Looking forward to read more from you.
    Well done!

My heart dropped a little bit reading this when it seemed like you were giving up the blog πŸ˜…. A lot of the time we’re so stuck in our ways we lose sight of what we’re actually meant to be doing so the introspection is crucial, especially in the work of ministry. So good on you sis for listening to that voice of discernment. I’m looking forward to the new blog and I pray you keep on persuing this work and use your talents for Him.😘😘

That sounds so amazing! Honestly, it’s so easy to get distracted by numbers but I’m so glad you took the time to refocus! Best of luck with relaunching your blog! πŸ™ŒπŸΌ
